A half day spring foraging walk where you'll learn about edible and medicinal wild plants, using your touch, smell, and taste...
just not your sight!

Join us for a spring foraging walk with a difference.

In the modern world, we have come to rely heavily on our sight, but we all have many other senses. So on this foraging walk, you’ll learn about edible and medicinal wild plants that grow freely in the Sussex countryside, using your touch, smell, and taste… just not your sight!

You'll learn ways to tune in to your other senses, and meet and identify lots of wild, abundant, local plants that you can eat and use as medicine... in a way that's fun and that'll fill you with surprise and joy..

Wearing blindfolds so you can’t see anything until we say lift them up, we’ll lead you all slowly on the walk and make sure you don’t trip.

The idea is that you’ll have a sensory, sensual experience, and get to know the plants based on what you feel, rather than what you think.

This means the learning will go into a deeper part of your brain, accessing memories and associations that’ll help you next time you go foraging!

Using your senses in this way means this class is not just about foraging, it’s also about connecting with yourself, the land, and place, and it’ll give you a taste of the way our ancestors looked for food and medicine.

After the walk, we’ll have a fire where you’ll be able to sample teas made from the wild herbal plants that we find.
