Wild Cocktail Foraging Walk and Masterclass
Learn how to make delicious wild cocktails using locally foraged ingredients that you can find on the South Downs
Thursday 31st August 10.30am to 1.30pm - Queen Vic Pub, Rottingdean
Get hands-on with gin cocktails at this interactive foraging walk and masterclass.
Enjoy a guided stroll through Rottingdean and the surrounding Downs, collecting ingredients for your drinks, followed by a cocktail making and infusing demonstration including tasters, then make your own Mayfield Gin cocktail.
Starting from the Queen Vic pub in Rottingdean, we'll take you up to the South Downs National Park foraging for wild ingredients, ending back at the pub for a wild cocktail masterclass (supported by Mayfield Gin).
This is a 3-hour session for up to 20 people.
The session includes:
All cocktails will be gin-based using Mayfield Gin
The wild cocktails we make will depend on the ingredients we forage on the walk, but are likely to be variations on classics e.g. sours and collins, and will include wild ingredients like elderflower, nettle, yarrow, may blossom, hogweed.
This session is part of Sussex Gin Week, and is being led by foragers and wild mixologists, Jane and Lucy Hedgewitch.
Cost £30 per person.
