A Guided All-Night Walk near the Full Moon & Summer Solstice
All night South Downs Way walk - starting at Seaford and ending at Eastbourne
10pm to 7.30am, June 15th, 2019
Join us for a silent all-night personal inner and outer journey, near the time of a full moon and the Summer Solstice - on one of the shortest nights of the year.
Starting at 10pm, and arriving at our destination at 7am, we'll be walking the Seven Sisters from Seaford to Eastbourne, along one of the most dramatic and stunning parts of the South Coast.
This is a challenging and exciting 14-mile all-night walk.
In making the transition from day to night back into day, you’ll be tracing the undulations of our unique coastline, and moving along the edge of the land without torches, mostly in silence, as part of a group in a safe and supported way.
By peeling back the mental chatter of the day, you'll find you can sink into the silence of this elemental and ancient landscape, to discover companionship in the sounds of the sea and the creatures of the night.
Your senses will be heightened to allow a level of awareness that you don't normally experience, and in the quiet of the night, you may hear your own still voice.
This walk offers a transformational opportunity that few have experienced before: the tastes and smells of the air, the feel of the wind playing on your skin, and the support of the earth under your feet as you walk through the night.
The walk will be loosely structured with stops along the way and time for some sitting reflection, and at a pace to allow your senses to fully expand into the sky and the sea, and the possibilities offered by moving across this ancient and enigmatic landscape at night.
As we near journey's end, we'll greet the rising sun and end with an optional refreshing swim on Eastbourne beach.
The walk takes approx 7 hours.
An experience to remember!
This guided night walk is led by Caroline Whiteman, and includes tea/coffee and a pastry at the end.
The cost is £60/person.
Book early! RSVP essential as we need to know numbers, thanks.
